Kelly Collection - Letters & Postcards

The Kelly Collection letters comprise the personal and business correspondence of C. Markland Kelly, Sr. during his career in auto sales as owner of Kelly Buick and his tenure in Baltimore City politics as City Council President. The letters collection also includes the correspondence of Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. dating from his time at McDonogh School through his enlistment in the Navy, and assignment aboard the USS Hornet, 1936 - 1942. Other items of significance include those addressed to and from C. Markland Kelly, Sr.'s extended family, notably his brother Caleb Guyer Kelly during his time as a Methodist Missionary in Tunisia and maternal aunt, Margaret Emma Stevens Parsons of Oxford, Maryland.
