Kelly Collection - Photographs

Known for his near constant consumption of radio and television, watching multiple TV sets at a time in his private office, and taking many photographs of himself, his family, yacht, colleagues in motor sales and Baltimore politics, early activities of the Foundation (1946-1965), and his pal and wife Leone Humphreys Kelly. Many of the Kelly Collection photographs encapsulate the Kelly family's life from the 1930s through the 1950s. As City Council president and acting mayor, C. Markland Kelly also participated in many civic celebrations, highlights include, President Truman's whistle stop trip in 1948, the launch of the USS Mary Pickersgill liberty ship, meeting Seabiscuit, a new fleet of enclosed waste management vehicles, and an Army Week Parade on April 10, 1947.
